Details: According to the investigation, Arkady and Anna Abramovich’s Lithuanian passports were used in transactions in what may have been an attempt to circumvent EU sanctions imposed on the billionaire after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Abramovich's children were involved in changing the management structure of his assets.
Investigators have analysed documents showing that at least one of the ten funds managed by Abramovich lists his two children with Lithuanian citizenship as beneficiaries.
A photo of Arkady Abramovich's Lithuanian passport was found among thousands of documents leaked from the Cypriot accounting company MeritServus. The document’s authenticity was confirmed by the signature of a London lawyer.
The investigative journalists were unable to establish when Anna Abramovich received her Lithuanian passport.
The Lithuanian Department of Migration has refused to comment on the citizenship of Roman Abramovich's children, stating that this information is protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and that Anna and Arkady are not considered public figures.
