A 14-year-old boy died after finding explosives in the courtyard of his family home in Sumy Oblast’s Okhtyrka District on 6 October.

Details: The police said that the explosion occurred in the yard of a house belonging to a large family. The boy’s mother said that she and her other children were inside the house when the incident happened.

Her teenage son was sorting through fishing nets in the yard, when the explosion occurred. When the woman ran outside, she saw her son’s arms and body were severely injured. He was hospitalised, but he died of his injuries.
