He stated that Czech diplomacy would continue to "stand firmly with Ukrainians – because peace begins with holding the aggressor accountable".
Background:
- Wreckage from a Russian drone fell on a residential building in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district on the morning of 1 January, partially destroying the top two floors and causing a fire. Two people had been killed as a result of the attack.
- Russian forces had been attacking Ukraine with drones from southern and northern directions since the evening of 31 December.
