The timing of Ukraine’s second peace summit, initially planned for November, is now in question. Daria Zarivna, an advisor to the Ukrainian President’s Office, revealed this uncertainty in a statement to the Telegraph portal.

This development came after the first summit in Switzerland in July, which proceeded without Russian participation. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously suggested the possibility of Russian involvement in the second summit.

“The second peace summit will not occur in November, but all preparations should be ready,” Zarivna stated

She later clarified on Telegram that the summit’s date would be decided in early November.

“I must explain. A series of thematic conferences on the points of the peace formula will be held in October. The last such conference will occur on October 30-31,” Zarivna wrote.

The timing is significant, as the US presidential election is set for 5 November. Earlier reports from Bloomberg indicated that Ukraine aims to hold the summit with Russian participation before this crucial vote.

In late August, President Zelensky mentioned that a draft of the final document for the summit should be ready “by November.”
