Details: As part of the aid package, Denmark is allocating funds, among other things, to strengthen Ukraine's air defence and operate Ukrainian F-16 fighters.

In addition, Denmark is transferring several CV90 infantry fighting vehicles in cooperation with Sweden, sending additional troops to the NATO mission to support Ukraine, and increasing its contribution to the EU military mission to support Ukraine.

The assistance package is funded by a reallocation of funds from the Ukraine Fund - a special fund established by Denmark to assist Ukraine - in 2024 and contributions from the European Peace Fund.

In addition, the remaining DKK 275 million (EUR 36.8 million) will be reallocated to strengthen the financial contribution to "the development of Ukraine's fighter aircraft capacity", the statement said.

In total, Denmark has earmarked DKK 64.8 billion (EUR 8.6 billion) for military support for Ukraine from 2023 to 2028, which is being implemented through a special Ukrainian fund. More than DKK 50 billion (EUR 6.7 billion) has already been spent or pledged.
