Deputy Secretary Verma Travels to Mexico
Office of the Spokesperson Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma will travel to Mexico City and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, July 24-26. In Mexico City, he will join Homeland Security Advisor Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall at the second meeting of the Trilateral Fentanyl Committee, hosted by Mexican Secretary of Security Rosa Icela Rodríguez. This meeting will enhance coordination on combatting the synthetic drug threat, drug demand and public health, drug trafficking modes and methods, and illicit finance. Deputy Secretary Verma will also meet with Mexican government officials to discuss migration, forced displacement, and expanding access to lawful pathways. He will also travel to Ciudad Juárez to visit with migration stakeholders on both sides of the border.
