Erdogan offers Turkey as venue for Russian-Ukrainian peace summit
Zelenskyy emphasizes the need for a just peace that safeguards Ukraine's interests and territorial integrity.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has proposed hosting a Russian-Ukrainian peace summit in Türkiye. He made this statement during a press conference following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Istanbul.
“We are ready to host a peace summit that will also involve Russia,” Erdogan was quoted as saying by “Interfax-Ukraine.”
Zelenskyy answered that a Russian representative may be invited to the next meeting after the peace roadmap has been discussed and agreed upon by Ukraine and its allies at a peace summit in Switzerland, the date of which has not yet been determined.
