Five Lithuanians were injured in the attack, with one man seriously injured but with no danger to his life.

The relatives of the injured, the Lithuanian embassy and Lithuania's Foreign Ministry have been informed of the incident.

One of the injured, Sigitas Maliauskas, stressed that this would not stop Lithuanians from providing all kinds of assistance to Ukraine but would only strengthen their resolve.

Lithuanian Defence Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas said he was aware of the situation.

"We are aware of the situation. All Lithuanian institutions involved are now mobilising to bring the injured back to Lithuania as soon as possible and provide them with the necessary assistance," he said.
