Quote: "The Ministry of Finance has publicly made a range of strange comments. According to one of them, the Agency for Restoration has not used a single hryvnia of the UAH 7.8 billion (US$190.7 million) from the partners. Since it is the official position of a governmental body, which calls the work of the whole team of the agency into question by manipulating facts and numbers, I consider it necessary to provide an explanation."
Details: Mustafa Nayyem states that lately the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has been making public statements that:
- In 2024, the Restoration Agency is allocated a resource of UAH 7.8 billion from all international financial institutions, but as of 1 June 2024, the Restoration Agency has not spent a single hryvnia of this amount.
- The Agency of Restoration has not presented the project of a water pipeline in Mykolaiv Oblast.
- The average salary in the Agency in April was 35,300 hryvnias (US$863).
- The Agency of Restoration received a €150 million tranche from the European Commission right away but presented funding plans to contractors without official approval by the government.
