France will continue its military assistance to Ukraine next year and increase its ammunition supply, as Engineer General Jean-Francois Dock stated during a meeting of the Ukrainian and French delegations in Kyiv on 30 November.
The press service of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry wrote on its Facebook page that the country had already received funding this week and will make payments for additional Caesar self-propelled howitzers for the Ukrainian armed forces.
“This week, we have already received the funds and will proceed with the additional purchase of Caesar self-propelled guns. I thank the French side for the continuous supply of ammunition for these systems. Of course, if possible, we would like to increase the number of guns,” Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, Ukraine’s deputy defense minister, said.
The delegations discussed urgent military needs and types of weapons with which France could help the Ukrainian military.
The parties also considered the possibility of strengthening defense cooperation and establishing logistical support between the countries.
“France is making every possible effort to help Ukraine. Our Support Fund is trying to cover part of the costs of purchasing some spare parts and weapons for the Ukrainian side. We understand Ukrainian needs, so next year France will increase the supply of ammunition,” Jean-Francois Doc said.
Dmytro Klimenkov and Lt. Gen. Ivan Havryliuk thanked their French colleagues for the continuous support of the Ukrainian army.
France has transferred a total of 30 Caesar self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine.
On 17 November, Ukraine’s Ministry of Health announced that France would provide 12 million euros in urgent healthcare funding for Ukraine.
