Vice President Harris released her last campaign ad ahead of the Nov. 5 election, making a case that Americans “deserve better” while pledging to bring about a “brighter future” if she wins.
“Throughout this campaign, I’ve seen the best of America, and I’ve seen what is holding you back and weighing you down,” she said in the ad. “High costs, fundamental rights taken away, and politics that have driven fear and division. You deserve better.”
In the roughly two-minute spot, the Democratic presidential nominee underscored her commitment to putting the country before herself — an extension of closing arguments she made earlier this week at a rally in Washington.
“I pledge to seek common sense solutions to make your life better,” the vice president says in the video. “And I pledge to be a President for all Americans."
"Now, I’m asking for your vote. Because as President, I will get up every day and fight for the American people," she added.
Titled “Brighter Future,” the advertisement will air Sunday afternoon during NFL games on CBS and Fox — including a game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. Both teams represent "blue wall" states Harris must win to secure a victory — Wisconsin and Michigan
The ad, according to the campaign, ultimately aims to contrast the vice president with former President Trump for voters.
“While the Vice President’s closing message centers the American people and their hopes and dreams, Donald Trump has spent the final days of this campaign showing himself to be increasingly unhinged, unstable, and obsessively focused on himself as he attacks his fellow Americans as ‘the enemy from within’ and threatens to further divide America,” the campaign wrote in the statement.
Harris also vowed to bring about a “new generation of leadership,” noting that “the vast majority of people in our country have so much more in common than what separates them.”
“Together, we will build a brighter future for our nation, where we stand for freedom, we stand for justice, we stand for the dignity of work,” she said.
With Election Day under a week away, Harris and Trump are still neck in neck. The Hill/Decision Desk polling index shows the vice president leading the GOP nominee by just 0.1 points — 48.2 percent to 48.1 percent.
