IMF transfers third US$900 million tranche to Ukraine within EFF program

The funds were received as part of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
The Ministry of Finance added that the funds raised are the result of a successful second review of the EFF program by the IMF Executive Board.
Quote: "Powerful and critical support from the IMF will help to timely finance the priority expenditures of the state budget and ensure macroeconomic stability in the conditions of martial law. The EFF program will continue to form a reliable basis for the development of the economic program of the Government of Ukraine on the way to full integration into the EU", noted Serhii Marchenko, Ukraine's Minister of Finance.
Ukraine has already attracted about US$4.5 billion from the US$15.6 billion foreseen by the EFF program (US$11.6 billion special borrowing rights).
Background:
- On 11 December, the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund approved the second revision of the extended lending program, and now Ukraine will be able to receive the third tranche in the amount of about US$900 million.
