Latest prisoners of war exchange not yet complete, operation is ongoing – Ukraine's Defence Intelligence

Andrii Yusov, Spokesperson for Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), said that the latest 53rd prisoner-of-war exchange between Ukraine and Russia has not yet been completed, and additional information will be provided later.

Details: According to Andrii Yusov, each exchange of prisoners of war is complicated because Russia disregards international law and the Geneva Conventions.

Background: On 25 June, 90 Ukrainian soldiers returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity. Among them are soldiers of the National Guard, Navy, Armed Forces, Territorial Defence Forces, and Border Guard; defenders of Mariupol and the Chornobyl Plant; those captured on the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk fronts.
