Lithuania, Ireland and Italy plan to sign agreements on 30 October regarding projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that”Ireland will allocate three million euros ($3.2 mn) for the construction of bomb shelters near schools in Ukraine.

These funds will be transferred to the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance Fund, which finances reconstruction projects in Ukraine.

The recovery of Ukraine is crucial for restoring stability and economic growth in the region. Rebuilding Ukraine’s infrastructure and institutions will help the country overcome the devastating impacts of the ongoing war and pave the way for its long-term development and prosperity.

A contract will be signed with the winners of the international architectural competition “School of the Future for Ukraine” initiated by Lithuania – the Italian company Scandurra Studio Architettura.

The ministry said the Italian company would prepare a school technical project, according to which destroyed educational institutions in Ukraine would be restored.

On the same day, the annual development cooperation conference will be held at the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on “strengthening resilience through international partnership.”

Gabrielius Landsbergis, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister, will open the conference. A memorandum of understanding will be reportedly signed with Taiwan regarding further cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The Taiwanese representative will also allocate five million euros ($5.4 mn) for initiatives to restore Ukraine, which Lithuania will implement.

Last year, Italy hosted a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine. In October 2023, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that the Conference would occur in Rome on 10-11 July 2025.
