Lithuanian president criticises slow aid to Ukraine: actions do not match declarations

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda has vowed to raise the issue of discrepancies in the actions and statements of Ukraine's allies, who fail to promptly deliver necessary military assistance, on international platforms.

Details: Nausėda referred to Czech data indicating that only four of the 18 countries that joined the Czech-led initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine have fulfilled their obligations.

"It's a pity that some decisions are voiced loudly, but the real result cannot even remotely compare to the declarations. This is a major problem, and our friends from Ukraine have repeatedly highlighted it," he said.

Nausėda believes that Ukraine's allies should realise that if Ukraine fails, "we will all become targets".

The Lithuanian president called for everything to be done "to ensure that Ukraine succeeds and that it gets everything it needs today". "And I will do my best to talk about it at the Peace Summit and at the summits of the European Council and NATO," he pledged.
