In reality, Tlaib was questioning why the attorney general’s office was filing criminal charges against pro-Palestine protesters but hadn’t done so in other protest cases. Tapper’s response fell short of a full apology in that case.During the first presidential debate between Trump and President Biden in June, Tapper was criticized along with debate co-moderator Dana Bash for failing to challenge any of Trump’s false statements. Trump, who had attacked the network in the days leading up to the debate, was singing Tapper and Bash’s praises afterward. All of this adds to a long list of criticism of how Tapper and CNN handle political coverage.
