Details: The Hungarian prime minister said peace needs to be worked on and that he and Putin had discussed the "path to peace".
Orbán also revealed three questions he asked Putin:
- What does Putin think of the existing peace initiatives;
- What he thinks about a ceasefire and peace talks and when they could be held;
- Putin's opinion on the post-war European security system.
Orbán did not provide the Kremlin ruler's answers to these questions.
He added that this is the moment when "Europe needs peace", and therefore "the Hungary's presidency [in the EU – ed.] sees the next six months as a peace mission".
The Hungarian PM also said that during his visits to Moscow and Kyiv, he realised that the positions of both sides regarding the war of aggression unleashed by Russia "are very distant".
