OSINT confirms destruction of eight fuel tanks at oil depot in occupied Crimea

Satellite imagery confirms significant damage to an oil depot in occupied Crimea following a successful Ukrainian strike on 7 October. The facility was engulfed in flames for more than four days after the attack.

The Ukrainian Telegram channel Kiberboroshno published satellite imagery showing the aftermath of the strike on the facility. According to their OSINT analysis, the fire engulfed 12 fuel reservoirs, with eight of them completely destroyed.

The exact amount of fuel stored in these tanks remains unclear. Additionally, several buildings on the terminal grounds were burned in the incident.

On the day of the attack, the Ukrainian Army’s General Staff confirmed Ukraine’s involvement in the strike, implying the use of the missiles:

“The task was carried out by units of the missile forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.”

In the immediate aftermath of the strike, the local occupation administration in Feodosia initially reported a “technological emergency of a municipal nature.” They later retracted this statement, claiming there had been a “technical error” and that a meeting of the Commission on the emergency regime had not yet taken place.

The Russian Telegram channel Baza claimed that two missiles likely struck the oil depot, resulting in damage to five fuel tanks. According to their report, two tanks were completely destroyed, while three others were damaged and continued to burn.

This recent attack follows a previous strike on the same facility in March 2024, which damaged the main fuel pipeline and caused a fire.

It's been the fourth day of the fire at the Feodosia's oil depot in occupied Crimea. Another oil tank exploded today.
