Details: Ryder also noted that the United States has seen "this increase in rocket and UAV attacks against our bases and our facilities in Iraq and Syria".
"We're going to continue to do what we need to do to protect and safeguard our forces and take all necessary measures," he added.
Background: US military bases in the Middle East came under attack on Thursday: drones struck the US base in Al-Tanf, Syria, and a rocket attack took place at Conoco, another US base in Syria. Moreover, the US also intercepted three attack drones in Iraq.
