Quote: "Today, 20 June, due to the overnight Russian attack, the volume of consumption restrictions has been increased starting from 11:00," the statement said.
Ukrenergo noted that the impact on hourly outage schedules can be viewed on the websites of local oblenergos.
The power supply to critical infrastructure facilities will not be restricted.
Background:
- On 20 June, as a result of a nighttime attack by the Russian military, civilian energy infrastructure facilities were damaged in four regions of Ukraine.
- Russian forces attacked DTEK's combined heat and power plant overnight on 20 June, resulting in injuries to three energy workers and serious damage to the plant's equipment [DTEK is the largest private investor in Ukraine's energy industry – ed.].
- On Thursday, 20 June from 00:00 to 06:00, the hourly outage schedule is cancelled. From 06:00 to 24:00, consumption will be restricted according to the schedules set by oblenergos.
