Reddit has launched a new AI search feature for its site.
The test rollout of Reddit Answers, launched Monday, will allow users to have their questions answered through a new conversational interface.
Users inputting questions will get a response of relevant conversation summaries on the platform as well as answer snippets from other users. They can also ask follow-up questions.
“People know that Reddit has answers, advice, and perspectives on almost anything they're looking for, and AI-powered search is part of our longer-term vision to improve the search experience on Reddit – making it faster, smarter, and more relevant,” the site said in a blog post.
The test rollout of the AI search feature will initially be only available in English to a limited number of U.S. users, with room for expansion.
It's the latest social media platform to incorporate AI, with other platforms such as Meta and X also utilizing the emerging technology in their products.
