Russia shells Donetsk Oblast, killing three civilians
Two people killed in Dobropillia, one more in Chasiv Yar.
Three civilians were killed as a result of Russian shelling of the Donetsk region overnight into Sunday, according to Vadym Filashkin, the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
“Overnight, the Russians attacked Dobropillia with suicide drones – in the morning, rescuers retrieved the bodies of two people from under the rubble of a house. Additionally, this morning the enemy shelled Chasiv Yar with artillery, killing a 66-year-old man,” Filashkin wrote on Telegram.
In Dobropillia, two administrative buildings were damaged, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. There was partial destruction of the buildings followed by fires involving furniture and building structures.
“Rescuers extinguished a fire in one of the buildings across an area of 450 square meters and contained a fire in the second building across 300 square meters, with firefighting efforts ongoing,” stated the Emergency Service’s Telegram update.
The Russians also fired three S-300 missiles at Myrnograd, wounding 12 people including 1 teenager, and damaging 9 apartment buildings and 27 vehicles.
In total over the past day, the Russians shelled populated areas of the Donetsk Oblast 16 times.
