Russia unleashes kamikaze drones on Ukraine, 29 shot down

Last night, Russia launched 38 Shahed kamikaze drones against Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Ukraine’s air defense took down 29 Shaheds, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

“From 8 pm on 17 November to 4 am on 18 November, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine from the northern and southeastern directions (Kursk region and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia) with Shahed attack unmanned aerial vehicles,” Ukraine’s Air Force reported.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, different groups of Shahed kamikaze drones attacked a number of regions of Ukraine in several waves. Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine coordinated their efforts to repel the Russian air raid.

As a result of the Russian drone attack, an energy infrastructure facility was hit in the Odesa Oblast (southern Ukraine), according to the Operational Command “South” of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

The administrative building was also damaged in the vicinity of Odesa city. A fire broke out and was quickly localized. One civilian employee was injured and hospitalized, the Operational Command “South” of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported.
