Details: The CO2 emissions have caused more than US$10 billion worth of damage to Ukraine’s ecosystem.

SLCPs, or short-lived climate pollutants, are also causing serious problems. They come second after CO2 in terms of their impact on climate change. By 2030, Ukraine plans to reduce methane emissions by 30% according to the Global Methane Pledge.
The press release says Ukraine is continuing reforms within the framework of its European integration which are enabling polluting Ukrainian businesses to modernise and move towards circular economy principles. They plan to restore it using the most advanced technologies, such as hydrogen.
Background: The first assessment of the damage caused by the disaster at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, carried out by the KSE Institute jointly with the Ministry of Economy and Ministry for Restoration of Ukraine, shows that the Russian terrorist attack caused at least US$2 billion worth of direct damage to Ukraine.
