Russian troops attacked Ukraine overnight into 6 March with 42 Shahed drones and five S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.

Russian Shahed drones were launched from Chauda, Balaklava in Russia-occupied Crimea, Kursk Oblast, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and guided missiles were launched from Russian-occupied Donetsk Oblast.

Russia uses occupied Ukrainian territories as a military base to launch attacks on Ukraine from there and for further aggression.

Ukraine shot down 38 Russian drones over Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia and Sumy oblasts, according to Ukraine’ Air Forces.

In Sumy, Russia hit in the middle of the yard between the high-rise buildings, the city’s military administration reported

The attack injured seven people, including one child, and damaged residential buildings and cars in the yard.

Russian troops also attacked Odesa, damaging a recreational facility, a gas pipeline, and residential buildings in the private sector, Governor Oleh Kiper said. There were reportedly no casualties.

“Drone maneuvers in residential areas made it difficult for air defense forces to operate,” Kiper said. But Ukraine’s Air Forces destroyed 18 Shahed drones over the city.

Kharkiv was attacked with seven drones by Russian troops, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said. The attack damaged an educational institution.

Ukraine’s military also downed six Russian drones over Khmelnytskyi Oblast, the Khmelnytskyi military administration reported. The Russian drones damaged civilian infrastructure, power grid, and residential buildings.

In Donetsk Oblast, Russian troops fired Pokrovsk with four guided S-300 missiles, injuring one person, Governor Vadym Filashkin said

The attack also damaged 11 multi-storey buildings, three private houses and three administrative buildings.

Russian forces also hit Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson oblasts in the night attack, but no casualties were reported.
