Quote: "127 injured, 74 taken to hospital – the number of those affected by the enemy strike on Zaporizhzhia is growing.

Four more people have sought medical assistance at the oblast medical centre following the attack on the city on 8 January."

Details: Fedorov also reported that 74 people remain in hospital, with 12 of them in critical condition. Doctors are currently providing all necessary assistance.

Background:

  • On 8 January, at 15:40, Russians launched two strikes with guided aerial bombs (FAB-500 from the UMPK, a guidance kit for converting unguided bombs into precision-guided munitions) on the territory of the oblast centre. They exploded in a crowded area, near the administrative part of an infrastructural facility and a roadway. The building and vehicles caught fire.
  • The number of people killed and injured kept growing. By the morning of 10 January, the number of people injured in the attack on Zaporizhzhia had risen to 123, with 13 residents killed.
  • Fedorov emphasised that this is the largest-scale attack on Zaporizhzhia since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, in which such a high number of casualties was recorded simultaneously.
