Russians once again refuse to return body of Ukrainian journalist Roshchyna, who died in captivity

During a repatriation operation on 29 November, the Russian party did not return to Ukraine the body of Ukrainian journalist Viktoria Roshchyna, who died in Russian captivity in early October.

Details: Suspilne did not provide a comment from the Coordination Headquarters, but a source from Ukrainska Pravda confirmed that the Russians did not return Roshchyna’s body.

Background: 

• On 29 November, Ukraine repatriated the remains of 502 fallen defenders from the Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia fronts, as well as from Russian territory.
• Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Freedom of Speech, previously stated that the Russian side is deliberately delaying the process of returning the body of Ukrainian journalist Viktoria Roshchyna, who died in Russian captivity.
