Satellite imagery has emerged confirming Ukraine’s October 9 successful strike on Russia’s Shahed explosive drone storage facility near Yeysk in Krasnodar Krai, southern Russia. The Planet Lab’s images, published by RFE/RL’s Skhemy project, provide the first visual evidence of the attack’s aftermath.

This visual confirmation follows a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 9 October. According to their statement, the Ukrainian Navy, in cooperation with units of the Security Service of Ukraine, successfully struck a Shahed storage base near the settlement of Oktyabrsky in Krasnodar Krai.

The satellite photo, taken on 11 October, clearly show damage to warehouse buildings at the targeted site. Notable in the imagery is the destruction of one building’s roof and visible traces of fire, indicating a significant impact from the Ukrainian operation.
