In particular, it was agreed that the conversation should take place after the US elections but before the G20 summit in Brazil, where Scholz is going on Sunday, and Russia will be represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Government sources added to the official report of the conversation that Scholz specifically condemned Russia's bombardments of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and said that the involvement of North Korean soldiers in the fighting on Russia's side could lead to a serious escalation and expansion of the war.
