Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Joly discussed the Israel-Hamas conflict and ongoing efforts to protect civilians, increase the flow of humanitarian relief, prevent the conflict from widening, and secure the release of hostages, including U.S. and Canadian citizens. The Secretary and Foreign Minister also discussed efforts to ensure the safe passage of foreign nationals and critically wounded out of Gaza. They also reaffirmed the importance of the U.S.-Canada relationship to security and prosperity in the region and around the world.
