Blinken spoke today with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi to share his deep concern for the Jordanian medical personnel injured outside the Jordanian Field Hospital while providing critical medical care in Gaza. The Secretary reiterated that civilians and medical personnel at hospitals must be protected. Secretary Blinken again conveyed the gratitude of the United States to His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Jordanian Government, and to the Jordanian people for their ongoing provision of essential humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people. The Secretary underscored the commitment of the United States to achieving sustained peace through the establishment of a Palestinian state as part of a two-state solution.
