Blinken spoke today with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The leaders discussed ongoing efforts to secure the immediate release of all hostages held by Hamas and establish a humanitarian pause in the conflict in Gaza. They agreed to continue close coordination to provide increased humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza and to press for the protection of civilians consistent with international humanitarian law. The leaders again reaffirmed the strength and importance of the U.S.-Qatar bilateral relationship.
