Russian forces launched an air attack on Zaporizhzhia in the early hours of 10 October, using guided aerial bombs to strike residential areas, resulting in civilian injuries and property damage.

Russia continues its deliberate daily attacks on residential areas in attempts to terrorize civilians and damage civilian infrastructure. The Russian forces launch dozens of Shahed long-range “kamikaze” drones every night, often also launching several missiles during the attack, and bombing the cities not far from the frontlines. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) later updated the casualty count, stating that four people, including a child, were injured in the attack. The DSNS reported that five detached houses were partially destroyed, while five more homes, a garage, and an outbuilding were damaged by the blast wave and debris.

Emergency services evacuated five residents from damaged homes. Police, explosives technicians, volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society’s Rapid Response Unit, and other city services worked at the scene.

Fedorov provided additional details, mentioning that there were several locations affected. In the first area, a one-family home neighborhood, several houses were destroyed, and about ten were damaged. A similar situation was reported at the second location. Fedorov emphasized that all residents survived the attack.

Update:

The number of injured in the Russian airstrike on Zaporizhzhia has risen to six, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported, including three men, two women, and a 17-year-old girl.
