Six killed, ten injured in Russian nighttime strike on Kharkiv
Nine high-rise buildings, three dormitories, several administrative structures, a store, a gas station, a service station, and multiple vehicles damaged.
A nighttime strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv has resulted in six fatalities and ten injuries. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed the casualties, stating that the attack involved “Shahed” drones targeting residential areas.
The assault inflicted damage on at least nine high-rise buildings, three dormitories, several administrative structures, a store, a gas station, a service station, and multiple vehicles. Mayor Terekhov condemned the attack, labeling it as further proof of Russia’s status as a terrorist state.
Information regarding further casualties is still being clarified.
- On March 27, 2024, Russian forces inflicted strikes on Kharkiv, resulting in one death and 19 injuries, including four children. The attack severely damaged residential buildings and the Institute of Emergency Surgery.
- On February 29, 2024, Russian forces killed four people, including a 6-year-old girl, and injured six others in Kharkiv Oblast. The attacks targeted various civilian structures, including a pharmacy, residential buildings, a cafe, a church, and an outbuilding.
- On December 28, 2023, Russian troops launched an attack on the border town of Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast, resulting in the death of a 66-year-old woman and injuring another.
- In early January 2024, Russian forces focused their assaults on Kharkiv’s Kupiansk sector, employing tanks and former convict assault units to breach Ukraine’s defensive lines.
