Slovakia provides €203K in humanitarian aid for Ukraine

The Slovak Ministry of the Interior announced on 4 January the dispatch of another batch of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, worth nearly €203,500, for the winter period.

Despite Slovakia sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Slovak Defence Minister Robert Kalinak informed NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg of Slovakia’s decision to end its military aid to Ukraine.

The 21-ton cargo includes electrical generators, heaters, clothing, and first-aid kits from the Slovak Armed Forces’ stores. Additionally, it comprises food, bottled water, and clothing from the Slovak Ministry of the Interior’s warehouses.

Slovakia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs also contributed to this humanitarian effort. The aid is designated for Ukraine’s Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Donetsk regional enterprise Donetsteklokomunenergo, and the city council of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk Oblast.

The Slovak Ministry of the Interior clarified that the European Commission is funding the transport of this humanitarian cargo to Ukraine.
