Twelve injured near Dnipro following missile debris fall, including a teenager
The number of victims rose to tvelwe, including a teenage boy who suffered shrapnel wounds and concussion.
On Sunday evening, 14 April 2024, the fallout from a downed cruise missile in Dnipro resulted in injuries to five individuals, including a 15-year-old boy. The incident also led to significant property damage in the region.
According to reports from the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, the missile was intercepted by the Air Command East around 17:50 local time in the Dniprovskyi district. The destruction of the missile, however, led to debris scattering across residential areas, damaging several homes.
Lysak detailed the aftermath in his update on Telegram, stating, “In the Dniprovskyi district, our sky defenders destroyed an enemy missile. The regional center saw debris fall that damaged private homes. Initially, two people were reported injured. There is smoke observed in the Lyubymivka community. More details to follow.”
Updated reports indicated that the number of victims rose to tvelve, including a teenage boy who suffered shrapnel wounds and concussion. The teen is among those severely impacted by the incident.
Further damage included nine private residences and a vehicle in the Liubymivka community, severely damaged by the falling debris. Three individuals sustained injuries from this specific incident, but they reportedly declined hospitalization.
