UK intelligence claims that Russia has begun to use cluster bombs more often

Since November, the Air Force of the Russian occupation army has begun to use the 500-kilogram RBK-500 cluster aerial bomb more often, UK intelligence reports.

Details: Depending on the type, such an aerial bomb can eject from 100 to 350 submunitions, which usually explodes with hundreds of high-speed fragments or one large cumulative projectile.

Russian occupiers are reportedly using RBK-500s against Ukrainian forces on the Vuhledar front and near Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast.

The Intelligence Service notes that the Russian Federation could have added a UMPC module to the RBK-500 aerial bomb. This allows the carrier aircraft to release ammunition many kilometres from the target. 

The ministry added that usually Russian planning bombs have low accuracy. 

In a preliminary review, UK intelligence reported that Russia's minor progress near Avdiivka had cost its occupation forces thousands of casualties.

According to the ministry, over the past six weeks, the losses of Russian occupation forces are the highest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
