UK sends “mine plows” to aid Ukraine in demining
Ukraine, heavily mined due to the war, urgently needs sophisticated demining equipment for land clearance and citizen safety.
The British Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Pearson Engineering to provide Ukraine with demining vehicles as part of previously announced mine clearance capability packages.
Ukraine, currently one of the most heavily mined countries in the world, is in dire need of demining equipment.
Pearson Engineering, a well-known British company in this field, will repair and refurbish mine plows donated to Ukraine by the British Armed Forces. The company has supplied more than 3,000 mine plows worldwide and continues to invest in defeating modern threats.
“We are trusted by international Armed Forces, and we are committed to continuing to defeat battlefield obstacles to keep soldiers safe,” said Ian Bell, Group Chief Executive Officer at Pearson Engineering.
The company also stated that they are collaborating with partners to ensure Ukraine has the necessary mine clearance and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities for both current and future needs, aiming to create a safer environment for the Ukrainian people in the long term.
