The memorandum stipulates that the Ukrainian and Italian ministries party to it will collaborate on energy transition and renewable energy sources.
Svitlana Hrinchuk, Deputy Energy Minister of Ukraine, and Vannia Gava, Italy's Deputy Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, signed the memorandum during the COP28 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai.
The memorandum envisages cooperation in the following areas:
- Technology transfer and capacity building in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector;
- Exchange of best practices and knowledge around energy transition and decarbonisation technology;
- Growing the use of renewable hydrogen, clean biogas and biomethane;
- Strengthening public participation and sharing best practices in energy system management, including the revision of the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP).
