Ukraine continues fighting near Krynky at a high tempo of operations and captured new positions on Velykyi Potemkin island, southwest of Kherson along the Dnipro River, ISW confirmed, citing Russian milblogger.
Krynky lies 30 km northeast of Kherson City. Intense clashes in this area demonstrate both sides’ ongoing efforts to consolidate control of territory on the Dnipro’s eastern bank.
The Ukrainian General Staff stated that “Ukrainian forces maintain positions on the east bank of the Dnipro River and are striking Russian positions in the area.” This indicates that Ukrainian troops continue offensive operations across the river despite Russia’s retreat in November.
Additionally, video footage shows Russian airborne forces conducting aerial reconnaissance of Ukrainian positions on the western bank of the Dnipro River. This suggests Russia seeks to monitor Ukrainian military activity across the river following the Russian withdrawal.
