Ukraine down Russian missile, 17 drones overnight
Ukraine's air defense destroyed 17 Russian Shahed-131/136 drones over Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, and Zhytomyr oblasts.
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a Kh-59 guided missile and 24 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs overnight on 8 April, Ukraine’s military reported.
Russian missiles laucnhed from the occupied Zaporizhzhzhia Oblast, and drones from occupied Crimea and Kursk, Yeysk oblasts, Russia.
Ukraine’s Air Defense shot down a Kh-59 guided missile over the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and 17 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs over Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, and Zhytomyr oblasts.
According to Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper, four Russian drones hit the city, damaging a logistics and transportation facility and a gas station. There were reportedly no casualties.
In Mykolaiv, Russian drones damaged power lines, leaving 14 settlements and one partially without power, Governor Vitaliy Kim said.
A Russian drone attack hit an infrastructure object in Zvyagel, Zhytomyr Oblast, the city council reported. There were reportedly no casualties.
Russian troops hit about 15 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast over the past day, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.
At noon, the Russian military shelled the Shevchenkivskyi district in Kharkiv, damaging 19 houses and 13 cars and injuring five people.
