The first half was played on opposing courses. However, the Czechs were more fortunate, taking advantage of a corner kick. Lukáš Červ scored from outside the penalty area (0-1).
During the Czech team's goal-scoring attack, Ukrainian midfielder Oleksii Hutsuliak was injured in a collision with Tomáš Souček. Hutsuliak had to be stretchered off the field and was replaced by Oleksandr Zubkov.
The Ukrainian team responded early in the second half. Czech central defender Ladislav Krejčí handled the ball in the penalty area while trying to block Yukhym Konoplia's play. After a VAR review, the referee awarded a penalty, which Artem Dovbyk calmly converted, bringing the score to 1-1.
The Ukrainian team pressed forward to expand their success, but efforts from Mykhailo Mudryk, Roman Yaremchuk, and Oleksandr Zubkov failed to find the back of the net.
The Ukrainian national team remains at the bottom of the group standings with 4 points. Czechia currently leads the group with 7 points, while Georgia and Albania are close behind with 6 points each.
