Ukraine, Lithuania agree to jointly produce military drones, EW systems, ammunition
Defense ministers signed a memorandum, establishing joint production amid Ukraine's ongoing military needs.
Ukraine and Lithuania have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish joint production of military equipment, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umierov announced on 4 November 2024.
The agreement was signed during Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas’s official visit to Kyiv, Umierov reported. The memorandum involves defense ministries of both countries, Lithuania’s Ministry of Economy and Innovation, and Ukraine’s Ministry of Strategic Industries.
According to Umierov, the agreement covers joint production of unmanned aerial vehicles and their components, ammunition and ammunition components, electronic warfare systems, and the development of advanced technologies.
The signing ceremony was attended by Ukrainian Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin alongside the two defense ministers.
As part of the international Demining Coalition effort, Lithuania delivered 230 pickup trucks and 240 mine detectors to Kyiv on 4 November during Kasčiūnas’s visit.
