On the night of 19 November 2023, Russian forces attacked Ukraine from the north, launching Shahed drones from the Russian Kursk Oblast. Ukraine’s Air Force informed that it recorded the launches of 20 attack drones. Ukraine’s air defense shot down ten drones near Kyiv and five more in Ukraine’s Poltava and Cherkasy regions.

According to the Kyiv Oblast military administration, all drones heading to Kyiv were shot down, and none of them hit the targets. At the same time, officials didn’t disclose which targets and where were hit by the remaining five drones.
Russia has been launching Shahed drones against Ukraine almost every day. In particular, on 18 November 2023, energy infrastructure was damaged in Ukraine’s Odesa Oblast, disrupting the energy supply to nearly 2000 houses.
