On the evening of 22 December, Ukraine’s air defense took down seven Russian kamikaze drones in the Odesa Oblast (southern Ukraine), Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration, reported.
Russia launches Shahed kamikaze drones and missiles to attack critical civilian infrastructure and ports in the Odesa Oblast regularly in order to paralyze Ukrainian agricultural exports via the Black Sea and the Danube River.
According to the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian air defense took down all Russian kamikaze drones in the Odesa Oblast on 22 December. However, the debris of downed Russian kamikaze drones damaged an educational institution.
As a result of the explosion during the fall of the downed drone, the shock wave damaged the glass of one of the educational institutions in the vicinities of Odesa, the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine reported.
No one was killed or injured in the Russian drone attack, the Odesa Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported.
