Ukraine's Peace Formula: Zelenskyy invites representative of Saudi Arabia to Malta

During a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited a representative of Saudi Arabia to a meeting in Malta to discuss the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

Quote: "I thanked His Royal Highness for his personal efforts to make the Peace Formula meeting in Jeddah a success. I invited a Saudi representative to take part in the next round of talks in Malta and noted the importance of the Kingdom’s role in preparing for the Global Peace Summit.

We also discussed the situation in the Middle East. I highlighted the need of preventing further escalation of the conflict and civilian casualties."

Background:

• The next meeting on the Ukrainian peace formula at the level of advisers will be held in Malta on 28-29 October.
• The President’s Office expects that the next meeting on the Ukrainian peace formula at the level of advisers and diplomatic representatives will be attended by more than 50 states. As a result, plans for the implementation of the peace formula points are expected to be approved.
