Law enforcement officers have detained a resident of Kramatorsk who had been sending the Russians screenshots of maps showing the coordinates of locations where the Armed Forces of Ukraine were deployed.

Details: The investigation materials indicate that the suspect is a 30-year-old resident.

 
Ukrainska Pravda sources reported that the arrested is Stepan Mitkin, born in 1993.

The special service notes that the man used weapon scopes to collect intelligence. He personally toured the city and observed the movement of Ukrainian Defence Forces.

The prosecutor's office said that the man was in contact with two representatives of the Russian army in September and November 2023. He marked the coordinates of the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units in his city on Google Maps.

After that, he took screenshots from the phone and sent them to the numbers of Russian mobile operators through the Telegram messenger.

 

The "agent" specified the locations of targets that could be of interest to the Russians using textual and graphic images of maps of the area.

At the request of prosecutors, he is currently in custody.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 12 years.
