Details: The fight will take place on 21 December as part of the undercard for the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. The venue is set to be Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
This will be Berinchyk's first title defence. Earlier, he sensationally won the belt in a bout against Emmanuel Navarrete – just a few hours after Usyk defeated Fury in a match for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion.
Berinchyk's upcoming opponent, Joseph Cordina, last fought on the undercard of the Usyk-Fury match, where he experienced his first professional defeat against Irishman Anthony Cacace (22-1, 8 KOs). Cordina was scheduled to face Shakur Stevenson (US) in his next bout, but that fight was cancelled due to an injury sustained by the American.
