According to Ukrainian Pravda, citing its sources, Ukrainian drones damaged 7 Russian aircraft during an 5 April attack on an airbase in Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai. The operation was planned by Ukrainian intelligence.

“Of these [damaged aircraft], four were multirole Su-30SM fighters, two were military transport planes, and one was a Be-200 amphibious aircraft,” the source said. A diesel substation at the airport was also destroyed.

Despite Russian air defenses, including Pantsir-S systems and small arms, 5 Ukrainian drones breached the dense defenses and overcame electronic warfare attempts.

This 5 April attack was part of a broader Ukrainian drone assault that day, also targeting airbases in Morozovsk and Engels. Ukrainian media reported two Su-25s were destroyed in Yeysk, killing 4 Russian troops. In Engels three Tu-95MS bombers were significantly damaged, with 7 personnel killed.

The Security Service of Ukraine and Defense Forces also destroyed at least 6 Russian planes at the Morozovsk airfield earlier that day.

Moscow only acknowledged over 50 drones attacking Russian territory, without confirming losses.
