Quote: "The Defence Forces have successfully hit the Yamal and Azov landing ships, a communications centre and several infrastructure facilities belonging to the Russian Black Sea Fleet."

For reference: The Yamal was designed in Poland in 1987. It has a crew of 87 people and its length is 112.5 metres.

The Azov was designed in 1972. This ship has a crew of about 380-425 people (including 47 officers). Its length is over 173 metres.

The Azov large anti-submarine warship was the first and only Russian vessel to undergo upgrades, enabling it to accommodate the experimental S300F Fort universal multifunctional air defence system.

The initial design envisaged 10 launchers of the new air defence system (with the firing capacity of 80 missiles) on the vessel.

Background: Late in the evening of 23 March, reports emerged that cruise missiles had hit the main communications centre of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in occupied Sevastopol.
